The "Politehnica" University of Bucharest is organizing between 3-5 April, 2013.

The event aims to develop cooperation between “Politehnica” University and socio-economic environment in Romania, represented by its top employers.

POLIFEST manifestation wants to become an annual reference event for the university, recognized at national and international level.

The first edition of POLIFEST - the largest event of this kind in Romania, was organized in October, 2012, and was attended by all the persons interested in the education-training process of “Politehnica” University: high school students, parents, teachers, large firms, SMEs, local and central authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Romania.

POLIFEST represented a different kind of contact, a different approach and openness to economic and social environment, a unique concept in the world. The event has been a success, both in participation and in terms of its content, resulted in the development of protocols for collaboration in education and research.

Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Research and Innovation 2012

 

An agenda for a renewed partnership

 

World Trade Centre, Barcelona, Spain, 2-3 April 2012


The European Commission, DG Research and Innovation, is organising a Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Research and Innovation in Barcelona on 2 and 3 April 2012. The Conference is organised in cooperation with the EU Member States and the Southern Mediterranean countries. 

The main aim of the Conference is to define the objectives and main elements of a medium to long term agenda for a renewed Euro-Mediterranean Partnership in Research and Innovation, which would respond to the present economic and societal challenges faced by the Southern Mediterranean region. 

The Conference will bring together around 250 top-level scientists and senior policy-makers as well as other stakeholders from EU Member States and the Southern Mediterranean region.

Baku International Humanitarian Forum is to be held on 10-11 October 2011 under the chairmanship of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev. It is supposed that they will address the Forum during the opening ceremony.

The objectives of the Baku Forum are to consider comprehensively the humanitarian aspect of new challenges of the 21st century. The organizers of

the Forum, who represent natural, economic and humanitarian sciences as well as the cultural elite, set an ambitious task of formulating a new humanitarian agenda aimed at its further consideration on an international scale and more precise research.

 

There will be round tables within the Forum on seven directions.

The themes of the round tables are:

  • Multiculturalism: achievements and problems
  • Modern technologies that changed the world
  • Convergence of sciences
  • Biotechnologies and ethical problems
  • Humanitarian aspects of economic development models
  • Social journalism and high technologies
  • Traditional value systems in postmodern culture

It is supposed that prominent figures of science and culture including Nobel Prize laureates will take part in the round tables.

A special publication which includes brief information about the participants and comprehensive characteristics of the issues to be discussed will be issued by the time of the Forum.

All invited persons are kindly asked to send the theses of their speeches and specify the round tables they want to take part in until 10 September 2011.
